The following workshop has been designed to make jobseekers more aware of how they present themselves in an interview situation & assist them in getting back into the market place.

Project Overview

The workshop demonstrates how actor-training techniques can be used in the job market. Today we will be working on a number of techniques that will help the job seeker to communicate effectively at interview. Like an actor at an audition we only get one chance to show that we are the right person for the job.

Employers, like casting directors will look to work with people who are confident, good communicators and can work well as a team. We have these abilities in us but when we are in a situation where we are uncomfortable such as an interview our nerves get the better of us and prevent us from showing our true worth.

Actors learn how to use their nerves on stage in a positive way. Every actor is nervous, however the art and craft of acting is in making it look relaxed and simple. More is said about ourselves through our actions than through our words. Exercises devised for this project can help individuals present themselves in a positive, confident and relaxed manner.
