Theatr Ffynnon is recognised as a model of best practice in supporting the development of a disability arts culture in Wales and beyond, placing adults and young people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health issues at the centre of activities, involving them as creators, performers & decision makers.

Theatr Ffynnon is a recognised leader in promoting & encouraging independent living where each individual feels valued, pro-actively working to eradicate social & cultural barriers that hinder understanding & acceptance.

Creating a challenging, expressive but safe environment is essential to our work. We believe that by building some of our work around topical or divisive issues, we can help to confront negative attitudes and defy expectations of what can be achieved by individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health issues.

The diversity of work we undertake is consistently devised and led by the membership (which currently stands at 100) and the communities we work within, to establish themes or issues pertinent to the individual & communities we represent.

Our company provides a number of projects, including theatre productions across Mid, South and West Wales. These projects are a window to the work of Theatr Ffynnon and play an integral part in raising the profile of the company’s work. They also challenge people’s perception of disability and mental health. Moreover they give a voice and a platform for our members to develop confidence, independence and life skills, but above all to stimulate and challenge themselves and realise their full potential.

“…an excellent performing company whose work is needed in Wales. Fresh, inspiring and highly professional…”
