Our core creatives work either with us on our core programme of workshops, commissioned projects and at times our theatre productions. We have currently seven core creatives with a diverse set of skills, experience and theatre background in both a national and international context.
Lisa has spent the last 10 years working with a range of companies from Gwent Theatre and Spectacle Theatre to Blaenau Gwent Youth Theatre and Head for Arts. She has been a Theatr Ffynnon tutor for 9 years, working as a Tutor, Assistant Director and Actor on several projects and productions such as ‘A Day in the Death of Joe Egg’, ‘Pieces of Hate’ and ‘House for Sale’ to name a few! Lisa is passionate about how the arts can create real opportunities for self-expression and also has a sister who is a member of Theatr Ffynnon’s Abergavenny group.
Angharad is a Professional freelance performer across a broad spectrum of the arts. She has a range of experience across many artistic disciplines including, acting, directing, drama facilitation, music, storytelling, movement and presenting.
Angharad has been working as an actress, producer, writer & workshop leader for 10 years. She has a particular interest in working in community theatre. She has worked as a tutor for Theatr Ffynnon for 8 years and worked on a number of community projects in Adamsdown.
Alistair Sill is an actor, audio describer, teacher and dad! He has worked with Theatr Ffynnon for two years in Abergavenny and Chepstow and also teaches employability skills for the Family Skills team in Newport for the WEA.
Catherine Capelin AKA Cat has been a professional actress and singer for quite some time now, working with the BBC, The Sherman Cymru and other organisations. Her proudest moment to date was traveling to Uzbekistan to work as an actress with a Theatre company in Tashkent. As a drama facilitator for Theatr Ffynnon Cat has worked mainly with the Chepstow and Crownbridge members, but enjoys working with the other members from the different groups when she gets the opportunity, Cat is also the Communication and Learning Co-ordinator for Theatr Ffynnon.
Anja Conti has been a professional actor musician and workshop leader since graduating in 2010. She has worked with a range of companies including Welsh national opera, yellow brick, feral productions and Wales Millennium Centre to name a few. She loves writing music and taking influences from around the world to help her create her own theatre.
She is excited to be working with Theatr Ffynnon and looks forward to the upcoming projects
Susan has been a workshop facilitator and tutor for over 5 years with various companies including: The Complete Works, NCS with The Challenge, Is It? and Scene & Heard. She is also an experienced actress, with a one-woman show: ‘I’ll Be There Now’ supported by ACW.
Aleksandra Jones is a Serbian choreographer and Director based in Wales – where emotions and physical meet
Aleksandra works with professional theatre companies, individuals and art institutions through CODA-Context Oriented Dance Approach, which she has developed over the last 25 years with students from Serbia and Europe.
CODA incorporates Authentic Body, a gentle creative movement method that brings together dance and performance techniques and Creative Movement, discovering and exploring new ways to express ourselves, using our bodies, memories, dreams, and experiences.
Aleksandra Jones was commissioned in 2013 by Theatr Ffynnon’s Director to work as Choreographer on a site specific project “House for Sale”
Aleksandra is now working with Theatr Ffynnon on the project “Metamorfoza” a 3 year dance movement project. This collaborative project with Aleksandra enters a second year and continues to develop and build the members /ensemble capacities in dance and movement. They are using CODA methodology to bring awareness about body, wellbeing and balance.
